Who represents Provincetown — and how to reach them

Provincetown is represented at four levels of government. Here is who currently holds each seat. Every one of Provincetown’s current state and federal representatives is a Democrat — which is exactly why an organized Republican committee would matter here: to give Provincetown voters a real choice on the ballot.

MA House — 4th Barnstable
Rep. Hadley Luddy (D)
Represents Provincetown along with Chatham, Eastham, Harwich, Orleans, Truro, and Wellfleet.
MA Senate — Cape & Islands
Sen. Julian Cyr (D)
The Cape & Islands district — all of Cape Cod’s outer and lower towns, plus the Islands.
U.S. House — 9th District
Rep. William R. “Bill” Keating (D)
Massachusetts’s 9th District — the Cape, the Islands, the South Coast, and part of the South Shore.
U.S. Senate — Massachusetts
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D)
Sen. Edward Markey (D)
Barnstable County
Assembly of Delegates & Commissioners
Provincetown’s delegate to the County Assembly is elected townwide. County government sits in Barnstable.

Town Government

Provincetown governs itself by Open Town Meeting, with a five-member Select Board and a Town Manager. The registered voters are the town’s legislature; under the Town Charter the Annual Town Meeting is held on the first Monday in April and the Annual Town Election on the second Tuesday in May. Meeting dates and agendas are published by the Town at provincetown-ma.gov — and we track the upcoming ones on our Town Meetings page.

Provincetown deserves a real choice at every level. There is no Republican Town Committee here yet to recruit and support candidates. Help start one.
